Kung Fu, the art of Gong Fu, is considered one of the world’s most ancient and sophisticated martial arts. Originating in China, it has a rich historical background that spans several centuries, and its story echoes the culture and philosophy surrounding it. The term Kung Fu is derived from two Chinese characters that, when combined, mean ‘hard work.’ The phrase refers to the commitment and resolve required to master the techniques and forms of the art. Kung Fu is renowned for emphasizing physical and mental strength, endurance, and discipline and being rooted in Taoist and Buddhist principles. Martial artists who practice Kung Fu utilize a vast range of techniques, including striking, kicking, joint-locking, and grappling, while also engaging in practices such as meditation, breathing techniques, and mindfulness exercises. Today, Kung Fu maintains its popularity globally, with its principles and techniques incorporated into other martial arts practices and fitness programs.

I have been a student at the Sandy studio for many years and joined to help me get stronger and lose weight. Over the years I have found that the practice of the martial arts has enhanced my life in many ways. Not just weight loss but health issues have been resolved and my mental health has improved as well. I feel like I'm entering my sanctuary from the mach 10 life I live when I enter the studio and I can let go of the stress and hustle for my personal health time. I've suffered many injuries over the years and I find that the martial arts training is the best physical therapy on a continued basis. Master Gracey and his staff have given me support and training and my fellow students have become my friends. I would recommend Tai Chi for anyone who seeks a healthier, happier life.

Loved my time as a student here. I studied Tai Chi for a few months, and it was very student-centric. I've also taken Kung Fu from the Sandy location, which is much more structured, and I've appreciated both sides of the Arts.

I started at this studio in 1994. Progressed for a couple of years and then moved for a job. It was in my new town where I really began to understand how fine a studio Si Gung Gracey has. I could not find a system with the breadth of material, nor an instructor with the combination of expertise and supporting teaching style. So I stopped. Many years later I wanted to start again so I called up Si Gung and he agreed to allow me to drive to SLC once a month for lessons. I just received my Black Sash. Please try to understand why I would drive 700 miles for a lesson. The instructors, the students, the material are just outstanding.
